Formerly: Professor for Art and Technology, Electronic Visualization, Digital Media, and electronic Arts, [EVL], Electronic Visualization Laboratory, School of Art & Design, University of Illinois at Chicago [UIC], Chicago, USA. and Leader of the Electronic Visualization Program [EV] at the UIC. Professor for Augmented Reality at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, Professor for Digital Media, Visualization Esthetics and Techniques, Interactive Technology Università degli Studi di Firenze, Master in Multimedia, Florence, Italy.

He gives lectures at several other universities and institutes among which: l’Università Complutense di Madrid, Spagna; il Politecnico di Milano; l’ Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milano, etc.

Fischnaller is life-long learner multifaceted media scholar, artists, designer and producer operating in the fields of art, design, architecture, technology, science, and information technology.

Involved in an on-going growth of trans-media experiments departing from the principle of an “unframed” process of creativity, Fischnaller is actively engaged in research, design, production and teaching. Fischnaller's activity ranges from addressing the results and production of the design practice to researching of intersecting multilayered convergence of disciplines such us art, architecture, design and technology, and bringing these art forms into relationship, emphasizing experimental approaches for implementation and development.

Fischnaller continued to create groundbreaking art works in which emerging technologies plays an active role. He is author of the following works: The Multi Mega Boook, Tracking the Net, The Last Supper Interactive, Pinocchio Interactive, Lautriv Chromagnon Medusa, Tracking The Net, Planet S.R.A.M., Virtual Necktie, Robots Avatars dreaming with virtual illusions, Mundis Uptodates, Amazonas Interactive, Meta Net Page, CityCluster and S0E| tech-utopia-space virtual journey.
Winner of Multimedia Grand Prix '97, for the Foreign Title Award, Japan. Recipient of two Prix Ars electronica Mention Prizes Awards: Interactive Art category in 1995 and 1997.
[FF] has artistic skills in an ample variety of media, techniques, technologies, new tools, aesthetic approaches and styles, in traditional and contemporary [digital] forms and competence in implementation processes in the fields of art, design, graphics and communication.

Life-long learner involved in an ongoing process of discovery, problem solving, discipline and refinement of skills in various art disciplines. Continuously striving to explore, innovate, improve, deepen, renew and refine his artistic expression.

[FF] explores, juxtaposes and integrates new media tools, technology, art and design with innovative concepts, personal aesthetic, and a keen awareness of maintaining equilibrium between creativity, fantasy, technology, efficiency and human interaction.

One of the principal aims of [FF] in developing virtual reality [VR] artistic content and collaborative environments is to sharpen his personal language and artistic style. Using digital technologies [FF] focuses on a more aesthetic interpretation of digital content and the implementation of advanced solutions in both the virtual narrative and design of innovative interactive experiences.

Virtual Reality+ Digital Content

[FF] Virtual Storytelling works attempt to address the personal dynamics within interactive narrative and to implement new ways of enhancing virtual storytelling as a cultural and social practice as well as an art form, incorporating the language of interactive design, aesthetic interpretation of digital information and visual design in the virtual environment.
Fischnaller’s is currently working on different projects and productions linking technology with architecture, art, design and entertainment. Designing new forms and innovative solutions in architecture and design from urban habitats, landscaping, multi-user recreational and tourist destinations, and high-tech intelligent multi-purpose buildings, to iconic architectonic solutions with challenging technological features and new forms of entertainment technology and digital entertainment.

Fischnaler is the designer of [SOE] The Space on Earth Project and High Tech Buildings such us: SpaceGate Hotel [SG], Entertainment Center [EC], Space Atrium Hotel, [SAH]. Andromeda [A], Zodiac [Z], Virtual Cyber Center, Space Shape Building [SSB], Space Mission Center [SMC], etc.

[SOE] The Space on Earth Project is a visionary SPACE tech-utopia outer-space destination, ... which allows people to actually feel to be in space although being on Earth: a new system of living and interacting with the impossible. [SOE] is comprised of: the QUANTUM CITY, City Center, and the DA VINCI VISION, the living areas encompassing residential condominiums and units.

Fischnaller aims to create pioneering projects, to design new habitats and architectonic solutions by actively integrating the use of electronic media, advanced communications technology, Augmented reality features multi-sensory simulation technology, AI, and new kinds of human-networking interfaces that allow new ways of living, working and learning with a connectivity and adaptability suitable for the new generation’s needs. Fischnaller concepts and designs stem from the conviction that radical changes in technology, tele-communication, interactive media, advanced communication, science, discovery, innovation, engineering developments, and transportation are radically… changing human habitats, consumer values, lifestyles, travel destination, attitude and ways of entertaining themselves …affecting the growth and quality of the leisure tourism and entertainment industry, and initiating new types of industry and business. This unprecedented new electronic age requires an equally unprecedented and brand-new approach to urbanism, architecture, design arts and lifestyle

Based upon the human challenge to explore, live, and dream in space, Space Gate Hotel is a high-tech networked and augmented reality multi-purpose space themed hotel and interactive virtual recreational center in which guests are able to experience the sense of living in outer space first-hand. In Space Gate Hotel the juxtaposing of artificial and augmented reality into the physical environment allowing the visitors to find themselves within a sort of twilight state where reality and the imaginary exist simultaneously”.

[FF] uses Virtual Reality [VR] extensively as a visualization tool for architecture and design.

[FF]’s real-time simulations allow virtual walkthroughs and immersive architectural fly-over interactions for structures, buildings, interior designs, habitats, ambiences, and environments. His attention to realism and quality of architectural design, perspective views and animations, variations of form, material and spatial arrangements, makes [FF]’s real time simulations an effective tool to better illustrate ideas, concepts, designs, plans and proposals.

For two years, [FF] was Director and curator of "Virtuality and Interactivity", the International Exhibit of Multi Media Art and Applied Research of MediArtech (Digital Renaissance). MediArtech is an international multimedia show dedicated to cultural heritage, the arts and performing arts, promoted by the Region of Tuscany/Italy and organized by the Tuscany Hi Tech Network in Italy.
