RESEARCH
VISION [ACMMM]
I
always have a compulsive curiosity for researching and experimenting
with new tools, media, techniques, themes, aesthetic approaches
and styles. While I enjoy being eclectic, above all, I need to
see the results from my experimentation in “real time.”
I
went from pictorial and classic media art [drawing, painting,
sculpture, printmaking, mixed media] to multimedia, from multimedia
to digital media, from digital media to electronic arts, from
electronic arts to robotics, from robotics to virtual reality,
from virtual reality to augmented interactive installations, and
networked art pieces, and from networked pieces to the confluence
between art, design and architecture. I arrived at an art based
on the integration of diverse media and technologies.
My artistic shift from classical to electronic art was a natural
passage rather than an act of renunciation. I did not deny or
exchange one media for another. The shift to my technological
style and new artistic forms was a natural sequence, a process
of transformation and accumulative results.
The
Uptodate System, a personal creative method, which lead me to
the junction between art and technology, has allowed me to explore
new forms of art, experimenting with electronic media while also
integrating my classic art background.
